Wednesday 24/03/2010 - Warwick Farm - A Quick View

These quick view previews do not form our final race picks or analysis, they are merely a quick early analysis of some of the factors for different races by putting a quick eye over the fields to highlight important factors.

Race 2 looks a good place to kick off proceedings with the potential stakes winner on the make Miss Shamardal going around, its closing pars were top class 1st up over 1400m and it will relish the step to a mile here, only btn 1l 3rd by Little Surfer Girl last prep in Listed company with Sister Madly 2nd.

Race 5 looks at the mercy of the former UK horse Albertinelli here, has now won 2 from 2 in Australia and this is a big class drop compared to what it beat last start

Most of these races look as open as the Sydney Heads, likely to find plenty of good value winners on a meeting like this. A Good track is likely and the rail will be in the True position.

Wednesday 24/03/2010 - Sandown - A Quick View

These quick view previews do not form our final race picks or analysis, they are merely a quick early analysis of some of the factors for different races by putting a quick eye over the fields to highlight important factors.

The meeting from Sandown Hillside in Australia on Wednesday brings some fairly decent horse racing our way for a Wedensday fixture,

Race 3 sees the smart Star Scream resumes from a spell but it is likely to meet with big opposition from the well bred Hayes trained 3yo filly Free Spirited who drops back sharply in class and 2 starts ago defeated Off The Planet who has since won impressively.

Kallogg shapes as being well placed in the 4th race of the day, last start was 2nd to subsequent good margin winner Sanrio, gets in on the minimum here.

One we have had a opinion of as a staying prospect for a long time now is Petro Wells who finds itself 2nd up over a very suitable 2400m in Race 6, he will love the Sandown layout and improve significantly on its good effort 1st up against similar.

Race 7 looks an overly strong race for the grade but once that sparks immediate attention here is Cinecitta, 1st up here and 1st up last prep destroyed a maiden field by 6l but 4 subsequent winner have come out of that race quickly after, she is drawn a good gate to go straight to the front, ticks a fair few boxes actually!

Looks likely we may see a few decent prospects that can gallop go around ta this meeting on Wednesday, plenty to look forward to.

Curragh (IRE) 3.55 Sunday 21/03/2010 - G3 1m Park Express Stakes

A field of 9 greets us for this G3 contest and it does look likely that the two lightly raced 3yo filly from the O'Brien camp will dominate here. All the money early has been for the Danehill Dancer filly Devoted To You rightly so in most peoples view especially considering it has the vote of confidence with Murtagh on board.

It is the stable 2nd elect that does look the value commodity here but, Lady Lupus. Her last start win over this track and distance at the end of last season winning at Listed level has since been proven an above average form reference for Listed company. Atasari 2nd home that day got nosed out by Music Show next start at G2 level, Akdarena finished 3rd as it did behind Devoted To You when having its 2nd career start by a wider margin but it does look to have improved considerably between those runs, Berg Bahn and Crystal Gal 4th and 5th home also add good depth to the form.

With our Advantage Ratings we have Devoted To You at the top of the market at a price of 3.13, Lady Lupus is next at 5.00 and then the 3rd elect is Latin Love at 8.33, they look the only 3 real chances.

The best value in the race is Lady Lupus at the 14.50 on offer early on the exchanges, it may drift out slightly from there, also likely to be bet at 3.50+ for the place makes very good appeal as well.

Betting Advice - Lady Lupus (2 units win, 4 units place)

Saturday 20/03/2010 - Rosehill - A Quick View

These quick view previews do not form our final race picks or analysis, they are merely a quick early analysis of some of the factors for different races by putting a quick eye over the fields to highlight important factors.

Early in the day the 2yo's do battle in 2 more Golden Slipper lead up races, we need to look at those in depth and will do so with more detailed previews as Friday progresses. Initial viewing suggests they are not as cut and dried as the betting markets make out.

Race 5 is a great pointer for serious punting, another of hte highly promising Lonhro progeny resumes for the Snowden yard, how many of this field can say they have beaten Trusting, Starspangledbanner and Nicastro on the same day. Demerit can, he has massive scope and looks well placed here.

We potted Rangirangdoo last start and backed Theseo confidently to beat him, it is likely we will be potting Rangirangdoo again here, he is slightly over-rated in our books and one of those horses that always goes around a bit short because the public like him so much. No doubt he will be unders here creating good value once again about other serious chances in the race.

A classic looking Coolmore field greets us in Race 6, hard to go past the 3 highly touted 3yo's Irish Lights, Faint Perfume and Set For Fame, of those 3 we really liked the way Faint Perfume closed hard from off the pace 1st up in Melbourne and that form has since been franked with with Response who finished 2nd winning at Group 3 level next start.

The form around Al Dhafra's last start win at Canberra looks strong in Race 7 but with the picket fence next to his name he may be unders.

On initial viewing Demerit looks the best on offer in Sydney on Saturday, early track ratings has this meeting set to be played out on a Dead 4 track and rail is in the true position making for hopefully a level playing field for all runners.

Saturday 20/03/2010 - Caulfield- A Quick View

These quick view previews do not form our final race picks or analysis, they are merely a quick early analysis of some of the factors for different races by putting a quick eye over the fields to highlight important factors.

Two well bred 1st starters from leading yards make appeal here in the 1st race of the day, Anacheeva from the Moody camp is a full relation to Headturner and a half relation to Kroner, being up so early in the season we have it on good word he may be better over the shorter trip just like his half relation Kroner, Hayes produces Victoria Bluebird who is by Encosta De Lago out of the Metropolitan winner In Joyment, it may be suited over further.

Race 2 sees Happy Hippy drops to a very winnable level, a representative of the hot John Thompson yard, the step to 1400m also totally suits.

Race 5 has a couple of potentially good stayers on the up engaged from leading yards, Timetable is a former UK galloper picked up by Freedman at Tattersals and looked good last prep, he could go on with it here, also Don Columbo has been improving each time out winning its last 2 for Kavanaagh, nothing wrong with backing improving stayers with scope that get in on the minimum vs a field of stayers with no further scope.

Gallica resumes in Race 6 and is obviously looking for further but last prep it was only btn 3.2l 1st up in a strong G2 race over this track and distance, a repeat will see it figure here.

The highly promising sprinter Definitely Ready resumes in Race 7 and gets in superbly weighted with only 51kg, looks very hard to beat.

Moody engages Returntosender in Race 8 and 3rd up last prep it was only btn 1.8l by Hussen over 1440m on this track, it gets in on the minimum here and this is much easier

We are likely to be playing on a dead 4 track from early impressions and with the field sizes not too big hopefully their will be some good strong confidence to be had about the betting on this meeting. The rail is out 6m.
