Strong Racing Tips At Flemington, Randwick & Benalla

Saturday will see us cover potentially 10 meetings around Australia to varying degrees of depth with the main concentration being on the Lightning Stakes meetings from Flemington and also the card from Randwick, but also there is plenty of good racing tips and winning bets to be had from other venues around Australia too. Below we highlight 1 strong tip or bet from each of the cards at Flemington, Randwick and Benalla.

We will also cover the action from Ascot, Coonamble, Doomben, Hobart (Elwick), Gold Coast, Kembla Grange, Morphettville and Toowoomba. Our analysts will have their heads deep in the form guide all night and well into Saturday finding the winners so tune into our site at www.fromthehorsesmouth.com.au for more of the best bets for win betting, place betting, exotic betting and lay betting to help you beat the players on the betting exchanges (Betfair) and bash the bookies in the corporate suites.

HTML clipboardFlemington R2 No9 Tollespirt (2) - lightly raced 3yo by Bel Esprit out of the Alzao mare Tolleranza who is also the dam of Listed winner Bell Ball, comes into this 1st up from a spell and 1st up last preperation finished 2nd btn 0.8l by Starspangledbanner in the G3 HDF McNeil Stakes over 1200m at Caulfield then franked that form only btn 1.6l by Black Caviar in the G2 Danehill Stakes, on a formline put Starpangledbanner in this with 57kg or Black Caviar in this with 54.5kg and the public would be declaring them certainties, at the weights on those 2 runs last prep that is what we are looking at here as a comparison, came close to giving this a level (3) rating, anything better than 7/4 is good value and is currently 15/4 or 4.75 and better in fixed odds markets around the country, exceptional value.

Randwick R4 No5 Buccaneers Prize (2) - well bred lightly raced in terms as a staying prospect by Montjeu out of the Kaapstad mare Galadriel who is very well related herself being a half sister to 3 high class stakes winning stayers including 5 time G1/G2 winner Just A Dancer and 2 time Group 1 winner Field Dancer, started to put it all together last start winning over 2400m at Randwick by 2.5l on the inner track, settled well back but was pulling early so let slide midrace 3 wide to race on pace and from there simply outstayed his foes, only 3rd up here so not fully wound up last start and still has significant scope for further improvement again here, trained by very good trainer of stayers in the form of David Payne and gets in on the minimum with the services of Blake Shinn, more likely to go forward from the outset here with no seen leaders engaged, should get soft on the front end and prove very hard to run down.

Benalla R4 No12 You I Find (2) - overly well bred type by Hussonet out of the Danzero mare Beni Hana who herself is out of a dual stakes winner including once at Group 3 level, on raw form the overall depth of class of this field is below par for the maiden tag on offer so it shouldn't take much to win here, this one on debut finished 7th btn 6.1l in a maiden that was substantially stronger than this field, we have highlighted that maiden race numerous times over the last few weeks and it has yielded 3 subsequent winners so far in the form of Packing Commander, Charbet and Gavan's Gift, also coming out of that same race is the winner Hasta Pronto and the superbly bred Othello both placed at their only runs since, it is clearly one of the strongest maiden runs in Victoria for 3yo+ horses recently, on exposed form this one as minimum is a winner in this grade and is subject to further improvement for fitness, race experience and step up in trip.

Blue Diamond Futures Chance At Big Odds Identified

Whilst doing the form for Race 1 at Flemington on Saturday 30 January our analysts have identified a horse that is at 70/1 in futures betting with bookmakers for The Blue Diamond that warrants support so we thought we would let you all in on the mail. On www.iasbet.com it is currently quoted at 50/1 for the win and 12.5/1 for the place. On www.tabonline.com.au it is currently quoted at 70/1 for the win and 17.5/1 for the place.

The horse in question is NOT QUITE which is overly well bred by Exceed And Excel out of the Quest For Fame mare She's Perfect (this is her first foal and first progeny to race), her 2nd dam is the Best Western mare High Honour who from limited chances has produced the 2006 Listed winner My Middi and her 3rd dam is the Godswalk mare and Listed sprint winner The Cloisters. Admittedly the family is not littered with blacktype but the first 3 dams have only had limited opportunities so far and have produced pure speed types.

Now on debut NOT QUITE was beaten out of sight at Seymour over 1000m behind Namaste by 13.8l but it is not that run we are interested in, since then she has won a trial at Cranbourne very impressively by 5.5l in 46.72 seconds which is only 0.39 seconds slower than Tricky Tricky won by on the same day (approx 2.5l slower) and from footage we have seen Not Quite had more in hand than Tricky Tricky who has been the medium of massive support in the last week in Blue Diamond markets and is now 10/1 to 14/1 in different circles (4th favorite).

The form out of Not Quite's trial win is very good to day the least, Thirty Rock finished 2nd btn 5.5l and at its only previous public effort also under trial conditions was 5l 3rd to She's Got Gears on a heavy track, margin was wider than the difference in those 2 suggested being on a wet track as is usually the case, 3rd home was Safe btn 9.5l who previously on its race track debut was btn only 3l by General Truce who has since won at G3 level in the Maribyrnong Plate by 1.5l defeating Sweet Cheeks and General Truce also came out and won a trial at Cranbourne on the same day as Tricky Tricky and Not Quite in 46.26 seconds and this confirms our thought pattern that Not Quite was very soft in its trial win given that on formlines she rates 6.5l infront of General Truce.

We are not saying she is a moral to win the Blue Diamond but at the big price on offer she can be backed each way this far out for a potential big return if the form lines we have found end up proving true and standing the test of time.

Lightning Stakes G1 - Match Bet Head To Head Value Betting

The G1 Lightning Stakes run over 1000m at Flemington in Australia on Saturday is the main race of the day anywhere in the country and leading bookmakers including www.iasbet.com are offering a multitude of special head to head markets that offer very good punting value.

After assessing the race we have come up with 8 strong bets in these markets for punters to take advantage of.

To access these markets directly go to http://www.iasbet.com/site/racing/racingmain.aspx

Bet 1 - Burdekin Blues vs Nicconi = Nicconi @ 2.15 (bet 4pts)

Nicconi looks very good value here as the outsider in this market vs Burdekin Blues who is installed the 1.70 favorite in this market, Nicconi is a Group 1 winner and has won its last 2 starts 1st up from a spell and 3 from 4 total 1st up from a spell whilst Burdekin Blues failed at his only G1 test in the Newmarket last year, he has won 4 in a row coming into this but the class of those wins is clearly not up to G1 standard.

Bet 2 - Burdekin Blues vs Starspangledbanner = Starspangledbanner @ 2.00 (bet 5 pts)

We have outlined the reasons above for wanting to oppose Burdekin Blues, on the other hand Starspangledbanner keeps on stepping up each time he is asked and won 4 from 5 last preperation, his 2nd up and 3rd up win last prep are all class and form refs out of those runs since stack up to making him a G1 sprinter and he proved that last start making all in the Guineas over 1600m.

Bet 3 - Duporth vs Cannonball = Cannonball @ 2.45 (bet 3pts)

The form around Cannonball is unexposed to Australian punters, his last start effort in Hong Kong was below par, his best form at Royal Ascot and out of the USA prior to going to Royal Ascot last year suggests he is borderline G1 quality, Duporth is admittedly a G1 winner but in weak company in Brisbane, he was only btn 1l by All Silent when 1st up last prep but with First command 2nd and Light Fantastic 3rd in that race the true G1 merit is questionable.

Bet 4 - Headway vs Irish Lights = Irish Lights @ 1.80 (bet 3pts)

Irish Lights won 3 from 4 last prep with her only loss being to Headway in the Coolmore Stud Stakes but her prior form over the shorter trip when defeating Avenue clearly suggests she has Headway's measure and she was also dropping from 1600m back to 1200m the day Headway beat her, Headway also failed to beat Avenue the start prior giving us a further frank on the form putting Irish Lights infront of Headway.

Bet 5 - Honest Truth vs Seeking Attention = Honest Truth @ 1.80 (bet 4 pts)

Honest Truth is a very lightly raced customer having only faced the starter 3 times but ever since the day he won a trial at Warwick Farm by 11l we have had him highlighted as a future top class performer, he beat a very good field that day including Honest Lies and So You Think and numerous form lines coming out of that trial win suggest he is a G1 quality galloper, her bolted in on debut by 5.8l at Newcastle then was thrown in the deep end running 2nd to Shellscrape on a wet track and his action suggested he didn't handle it, Seeking Attention is at best G3 quality whilst Honest Truth has the scope to be a G1 performer.

Bet 6 - Nicconi vs Starspangledbanner = Starspangledbanner @ 1.70 (bet 4pts)

We have highlighted both of these horses previously in previews vs Burdekin Blues but clearly Starspangledbanner rates higher than Nicconi on his form from last preperation, Nicconi is a G1 winner but not of the strongest quality whilst Starspangledbanner's form suggests he may be a top quality G1 sprinter on the make.

Bet 7 - 3YO's vs Older Horses = Any 3yo winner @ 1.55 (bet 7pts)

The best rated of the older horses are Cannonball, Duporth and Nicconi and they are not true G1 quality horses in our assessment whilst the 3yo's have the likes of Starspangledbanner, Wanted, Honest Truth, Irish Lights and Sister Madly who all may be Group 1 quality sprinters of good quality, on assessing this race we feel this is one of the best 3yo sprinting crops seen in a fair while in Australia. The 3yo's will be winning this race!

Bet 8 - Odd Numbered Winner vs Even Numbered Winner = Even Numbered Winner @ 1.90 (bet 5 pts)

This bet is very good value, The even numbered saddlecloths include Starspangledbanner, Wanted, Honest Truth, Irish Lights and Cannonball and account for 4 of our top 6 rated runners here and 3 of our top 4 rated runners whilst the odd numbered saddlecloth account for only 2 of the top 6 and 1 of the top 4 rated runners. So this gives a clear advantage to the even numbered horses.

We will also preview the race selections for this race plus other races on Saturday in Analytical Angles and Two Horse Wars at www.fromthehorsesmouth.com.au

Value & Strength In Tips At Mornington On Friday

It shapes as a likely strong day of punting action for Australian horse racing at Mornington on Friday for followers at www.fromthehorsesmouth.com.au. Below we highlight 2 of our bets on the card. Both are included into our service Live Win Betting whilst the second one in Race 7 is a near certainty to land a spot in our premier service Deluxe Win Betting being a level (3) rated horse racing tip.

HTML clipboardMornington R1 No7 Military Kiss (1) - bred for speed by General Nediym out of the Zedative mare Pash who was a winner 3 from 9 in its short career over sprint trips, 2nd up from a spell here and lightly raced with good scope for improvement on the back of finishing 4th btn 3.9l over this track and distance, was only evenly away last start and then got caught 3 wide and was disappointed for a run at a crucial stage, obviously better than that effort suggests and the actual form out of that race is overly strong for what it takes on here, only public trial finished 3.5l 3rd to 2 smart types in the form of My Girl Helen and Miss Aviatrix who both won 1st up off the back of that trial, also beat home I'm A Smarty Pants in that trial who is clearly above this lot, gets in well drawn here for a likely soft on pace trip tracking the speed with one of the runs of the race, also in well weighted with only 52.5kg after the claim for J Noonan, ticks enough boxes to be a very strong level (1) selection.

Mornington R7 No1 Rowland (3) - well bred staying prospect by Lonhro out of the Sadler's Wells mare Paris In The Fall who is already the dam of listed winner Exceedingly French and also handy type Danz In Paris ($100K+ in stakes) from only 3 horses to race, this is an overly weak staying contest with most of the field tried and tested but Rowland still has scope for further improvement and is already clearly above the level required to win in this grade going on 3 runs in this preparation, broke maiden status impressively 1st up over 1600m at Cranbourne for a $15k purse, 2 of the beaten brigade won at their next start, franked that form 2nd up when nosed out by Rentarossa over 2025m at Cranbourne for a $22K purse, only one to make up significant ground in a leader dominated race, again franked the form last start when only btn 2.4l for a $30k purse at Moonee Valley when 3rd over 2040m, at peak fitness now and drops sharply back to a weak $12k race, only 2 minor queries are Tarawera and Toro but this one clearly has more upside and gets a perfect trip from the 2 alley, hard to beat.

Meydan Opening Day Previews - 28/01/2010

Below are previews of two of the better quality races scheduled to be run on the 1st day of the Dubai racing carnival for 2010 to be held on Thursday 28 January from Meydan race course.

View these previews and more at our main website www.fromthehorsesmouth.com.au. We will previewing races on all 10 days of the carnival run in Dubai culminating in the running of the Dubai World Cup.

Meydan R4 (4.50) - Kayrawan Sponsored By Shadwell Farm 6f - Winner £37K

The two Australian imported gallopers look to be the major players here on exposed form, both Aichi and Desuetude represent the Godolphin yard after doing their juvenile and 3yo racing in Australia. Other seen chances here are Frosty Secret and Indian Chant, European raiders Axiom and Musaleem have minor claims but it is the Australian pair who look set to fight this out. It is very hard to go past the top class Australian sprinting form of Aichi who 3 starts ago finished a high merit 3rd in the Newmarket Handicap at Group 1 level beaten only 1.2l by Scenic Blast who went on to conquer the best European sprinters at Royal Ascot a few months later. Axiom and Musaleem are definitely not up to the class of the horses Scenic Blast beat at Royal Ascot so they can be comfortably left alone here as also rans. Desuetude did beat Aichi in February 08 when they were early season 2yo's but Desuetude definitely has shown as much improvement as Aichi since then. Indian Chant is a Group 3 winner at Churchill Downs in The USA and the form out of that race does looks reasonably strong but he has been off the track since July 08 when he was down the track behind Benny The Bull at his last appearance, still on exposed form he must be respected. Frosty Secret was very good last season in Dubai finishing 2nd to Big City Man and then getting nosed out by Hammadi in a very strong listed race at Jebel Ali at his last start in March 09, he is proven in the conditions but still it is the Australian pair who look to have a class edge and they are likely to fight it out.

1st. No1 Aichi 3.70
2nd. No2 Desuetude 4.30
3rd. No11 Frosty Secret 6.60
4th. No13 Indian Chant 7.70
5th. No5 Axiom 12.50
6th. No4 Musaleem 16.60

Aichi represents good value here at 3.70 in our assessed market, no public prices are available yet.

Meydan R5 (5.35) - Mustanfar Sponsored By Shadwell Farm 10f - Winner £54K

A few Group quality stayers with significant upside are engaged here, the main chances are given to Topclas and Sopranist but also minor claims are given to Art Of War, Halicarnassus and to a lesser extent Merchant Marine and Khor Dubai. Topclas does look the one to beat coming into this off strong form in France which includes a Listed win at Clairefontaine 2 starts ago over 12f defeating Cirrus Des Aigles 2nd who came out and won at Group 2 & Group 3 level at its next 2 starts before last start finishing 1l 5th to Daryakana in the G1 Hong Kong Vase and the start prior to finishing 2nd to Topclas also won at Listed level by 6l, that is clearly the best exposed form here. Sopranist is a lightly raced improver with big scope by Singspiel who last start finished a close up 2nd to Roman Republic over 10f at Goodwood in the Summer Vase Handicap for a 37K purse having only its 4th career start, form refs out of that race compare favourably to smart staying prospect Fareer who won the Britania Stakes. Art Of War was 4l 2nd to Gloria De Campeo and 8l 3rd to Asiatic Boy here back in February and March of 09 giving it outside claims here and Halircarnassus is next best on its form placing behind Kite Wood and Illustrious Blue back in July and August of 09. Clearly the form around Topclas on its Listed win at Clairefontaine gives it the edge to kick off its Dubai campaign on a winning note here and is obviously being aimed at much better races over the 10 meet carnival.

1st. No3 Topclas 3.60
2nd. No11 Sopranist 4.50
3rd. No6 Art Of War 6.60
4th. No1 Halicarnassus 6.60

Topclas can be backed with good confidence here at the assessed price of 3.60 or better, no public prices are available yet.

Topclas winning at Clairefontaine in France (comes from last entering the stretch in the green sleeves and nose roll) More races to be added soon........
